Key responsibilities
- Team management: Supervise, train, and mentor mechanical staff, including assigning tasks, scheduling, and evaluating performance.
- Maintenance coordination: Plan and execute daily maintenance and repair activities, coordinating with other departments like production. This can include both routine and preventive maintenance.
- Safety and compliance: Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards, and that equipment operates safely. They may also be responsible for implementing and following international standards like ISO.
- Equipment oversight: Monitor the performance and condition of machinery, diagnose malfunctions, and ensure equipment and tools are maintained and properly used.
- Quality assurance: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets job standards and specifications.
- Operational support: Respond to maintenance requests, manage maintenance costs, and contribute to the development of improved maintenance plans and procedures.
- Administrative duties: Maintain records, manage departmental budgets, and order or purchase necessary equipment and tools.
