Job Summary
The Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical aspects of projects to ensure completion within scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. The role involves coordination with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee mechanical engineering activities for assigned projects
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical submittals
- Coordinate with design, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams
- Ensure mechanical works comply with project specifications, codes, and standards
- Monitor project progress, schedules, and budgets related to mechanical scope
- Support procurement by reviewing technical bids and vendor documents
- Conduct site inspections and supervise installation of mechanical systems
- Identify technical risks and propose corrective actions
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems
- Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and as-built records
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and company policies
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer is mandatory
- Experience in construction, EPC, oil & gas, power, or industrial projects
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, etc.)
- Experience in project management tools and documentation systems
Skills & Competencies
- Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, equipment, rotating/static equipment)
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software (AutoCAD, Primavera, etc.)
- Time management and ability to handle multiple priorities
