Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Specialist to lead and execute advanced maintenance activities on critical mechanical systems and rotating equipment. This role is ideal for a senior maintenance professional with strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience in industrial or power generation environments, and a passion for mentoring technicians and driving system reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems (pumps, compressors, turbines, rotating equipment)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical failures using advanced tools and techniques
- Recommend and implement system upgrades and performance improvements
- Support major shutdowns, turnarounds, and project activities
- Ensure all work complies with HSE regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
- Monitor equipment performance, analyze KPIs, and report improvement opportunities
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to technicians and junior staff
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams
- Utilize CMMS (e.g., SAP PM) for maintenance tracking and reporting
Qualifications & Experience
Education (Essential / Preferred):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Essential)
- Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance with significant experience (Preferred)
Experience:
- 8–10+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in industrial or power generation environments
- Strong background in critical systems and rotating equipment
Certifications (Preferred):
- CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or equivalent
- Safety certifications such as OSHA / NEBOSH
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems (rotating equipment, valves, heat exchangers, piping)
- Advanced troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
- Proficient with diagnostic tools (vibration analysis, thermography)
- Strong understanding of safety standards and industry best practices
- Familiarity with CMMS (SAP PM preferred)
- Leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage work under pressure
