Mechanical Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Specialist to lead and execute advanced maintenance activities on critical mechanical systems and rotating equipment. This role is ideal for a senior maintenance professional with strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience in industrial or power generation environments, and a passion for mentoring technicians and driving system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and perform advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems (pumps, compressors, turbines, rotating equipment)
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical failures using advanced tools and techniques
• Recommend and implement system upgrades and performance improvements
• Support major shutdowns, turnarounds, and project activities
• Ensure all work complies with HSE regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
• Monitor equipment performance, analyze KPIs, and report improvement opportunities
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to technicians and junior staff
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams
• Utilize CMMS (e.g., SAP PM) for maintenance tracking and reporting

Qualifications & Experience

Education (Essential / Preferred):

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Essential)
• Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance with significant experience (Preferred)

Experience:

• 8–10+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in industrial or power generation environments
• Strong background in critical systems and rotating equipment

Certifications (Preferred):

• CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or equivalent
• Safety certifications such as OSHA / NEBOSH

Skills & Competencies

• Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems (rotating equipment, valves, heat exchangers, piping)
• Advanced troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
• Proficient with diagnostic tools (vibration analysis, thermography)
• Strong understanding of safety standards and industry best practices
• Familiarity with CMMS (SAP PM preferred)
• Leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage work under pressure
