Job Purpose
This role is strictly NON-HVAC focused. The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for supervising and maintaining firefighting systems, fire pumps, diesel generators, plumbing, water and utility mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities – Primary Scope (80%)
- Firefighting systems maintenance including fire pumps (diesel, electric & jockey), hydrants, hose reels, sprinklers, fire water tanks, valves and piping networks.
- Supervise routine testing, inspection and readiness of fire pumps as per QCDD and NFPA requirements.
- Diesel Generator (DG) mechanical maintenance including engines, cooling systems, fuel systems, exhaust systems and emergency operation readiness.
- Supervise maintenance of utility and building services pumps: potable water, booster pumps, drainage, sewage and sump pumps.
- Plumbing and drainage systems maintenance across buildings and facilities.
Secondary Responsibilities (20%)
- Coordinate with HVAC Supervisor during integrated mechanical works.
- Supervise subcontractors and OEMs for fire pump and DG servicing.
- Support emergency breakdowns and critical shutdown activities.
- Ensure availability of spare parts and tools for mechanical systems.
Mandatory Experience & Screening Criteria
- Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in firefighting systems and fire pump maintenance.
- Proven experience in diesel generator mechanical maintenance.
- Experience in facility management, utilities or large building environments.
- HVAC-only experience will NOT be considered for this role.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Fire pump, DG or life safety system training is highly preferred.
- Available in Doha on transferable visa.
