We are looking for a technically strong Mechanical Systems QA/QC Engineer with real site exposure and a solid understanding of mechanical building services systems, construction documentation, and field quality control.

This role is suited to an engineer who can move confidently between drawings, inspections, engineering changes, technical submissions, site conditions, testing activities, and consultant coordination.

You must be comfortable working in a live construction environment and technically competent in reviewing mechanical layouts, schematics, risers, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and Engineering Instructions (EIs), while ensuring installation works comply with approved documentation, specifications, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring the quality of HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, ventilation, and associated mechanical systems during installation and testing phases. This includes verifying works against approved drawings, method statements, material submittals, and QA/QC procedures.

You will review technical documents such as shop drawings, IFC drawings, as-builts, submittals, WIRs, MIRs, RFIs, NCRs, inspection records, and Engineering Instructions, ensuring that revisions and design changes are properly tracked and reflected in site execution.

The role also requires involvement in inspection planning, test witnessing, QA/QC reporting, consultant/client coordination, and technical follow-up to support timely closure of quality issues and maintain full traceability of inspected works.

Technical Requirements

Candidates must have a strong technical understanding of mechanical systems used in building services projects, particularly HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, chilled water, ductwork, pipework, valves, pumps, drainage, and ventilation systems.

You should be able to confidently read and interpret drawings, layouts, schematics, sections, coordination details, and revision-controlled technical documentation, and understand how Engineering Instructions (EIs) impact construction, documentation, and inspection processes.

Knowledge of standards and quality frameworks such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, CIBSE, and ISO 9001:2015 is highly desirable. Exposure to testing, commissioning, TAB readiness, pressure testing, flushing, drainage testing, and installation inspections is also important.

Experience with hotel kitchen systems, extract systems, cold rooms, LPG systems, or other specialist mechanical systems will be considered a strong advantage.

Systems, Software & Communication

This role requires advanced Microsoft Office capability, especially in Excel and Word.

You must be able to use Excel for trackers, logs, lookups, filters, status monitoring, inspection follow-up, revision control, and structured QA/QC reporting. You should also be capable of producing clear, well-structured technical reports and formal documentation in Word.

Experience with project documentation platforms such as ACONEX, FORTIS, or similar systems is a strong plus.

Strong written and spoken English communication is essential. The successful candidate should be capable of communicating professionally with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and internal project teams, and should be confident in leading or contributing to project meetings, quality reviews, and technical coordination discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (4-year degree)
• UAE MOFA-attested degree is mandatory
• Valid UAE Driving License is mandatory
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• At least 2 years of UAE project/site experience preferred
• Strong familiarity with site conditions, installation challenges, and practical construction workflows
• Able to complete a technical assessment as part of the hiring process
