Mechanical Team Lead - HVAC

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Team Lead (HVAC) to join our expanding design studio in New Cairo, Egypt. The successful candidate will lead the mechanical design team for prestigious high-rise residential and hospitality developments. The role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise in HVAC systems, and proven experience in delivering projects using BIM platforms .

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Management
• Lead and manage the mechanical (HVAC) design team, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Allocate tasks, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior engineers.
• Coordinate with other discipline leads to achieve integrated project delivery.

• Design & Technical Delivery
• Oversee the preparation of HVAC design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with international codes, local regulations, and project requirements.
• Lead BIM-based design processes, ensuring accurate coordination with architectural and structural models.
• Review and approve mechanical design packages prepared by the team and external consultants.

• Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve design issues.
• Attend design coordination meetings and present mechanical design concepts.
• Support procurement teams by reviewing technical submissions and vendor proposals.

• Quality & Compliance
• Implement quality control procedures and ensure adherence to company standards.
• Ensure compliance with sustainability goals, energy efficiency standards, and client requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical (HVAC) design, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role .
• Proven experience delivering high-rise residential and hospitality projects .
• Strong expertise in BIM-based design (Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks).
• Previous experience working with design consultancies is essential.
• Familiarity with international design codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, etc.).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of sustainable design practices (LEED, Estidama, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
• Experience working in multinational project environments.
