Mechanical Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in building and assembling prototypes of waste-to-energy equipment (reactors, shredders, conveyors, thermal units, etc.).
• Perform welding and metal fabrication, including:
• MIG/TIG/Arc welding (as applicable)
• Cutting, grinding, and finishing metal parts
• Fabricating frames, mounts, pipes, and machine components
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, CAD outputs, and assembly diagrams.
• Conduct mechanical fitting, installation, and alignment of motors, shafts, bearings, couplings, and thermal system components.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and prototypes.
• Support testing and experimental setups, collect measurements, and assist with improvements based on test results.
• Work with workshop tools including drills, grinders, cutters, welders, and measurement instruments.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to provide feedback on manufacturability, design tweaks, and field issues.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop environment; follow all industrial safety and welding safety protocols.
• Manage inventory of parts, materials, and consumables used in fabrication and prototyping.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Technology, Mechanical Technician trade, Fabrication, or related field.
• Proven hands-on experience with welding (MIG/TIG/Arc) and metal fabrication.
• Strong skills in mechanical assembly, fitting, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and follow engineering instructions.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
• Understanding of basic mechanics, thermodynamics, and safety guidelines.
• A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Passion for climate tech, sustainability, and building physical systems that make a real difference.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs30,000.00 - Rs50,000.00 per month
