Mechanical Technician – Facility Management
Position Overview
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the efficient operation of mechanical systems within the facility. This role supports facility management by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimize downtime and ensure smooth facility operations.
- Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts usage.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with facility management and other technicians to resolve technical issues.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and service requests.
- Monitor energy consumption and suggest improvements for efficiency.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within facility management or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, pumps, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting and documentation.
