We’re Hiring: Senior Mechanical Technician – Steam, Rotating Equipment & Industrial Maintenance
Location: Riyadh (Hybrid: Office + Client Sites across KSA)
Employment Type: Full-time
Core Traits Required: Proven Experience | Ability to Drive
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Technician to support our service operations across factories, hotels, hospitals, and industrial facilities. The technician will execute preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose complex mechanical issues, and restore equipment reliability across steam/thermal systems and rotating machinery. The role includes frequent site visits, hands-on repairs, and technical reporting.
Key Responsibilities (Technical)
1) Steam & Thermal Systems Maintenance
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on steam boilers, calorifiers (hot water tanks), heat exchangers, and associated steam-room auxiliaries.
- Diagnose issues in steam distribution and condensate return systems, including steam quality problems, condensate backup, and water hammer indicators.
- Inspect and service steam accessories such as PRV stations, control valves, steam traps, strainers, non-return valves (NRVs), safety valves, vents, and isolation arrangements.
2) Rotating Equipment & Mechanical Overhauls
- Maintain and troubleshoot rotating equipment including pumps, motors (mechanical coupling aspects), gear-driven units, and selected packaged skids.
- Conduct mechanical works on:
- Bearings (inspection, replacement, lubrication practices, failure symptom recognition)
- Alignment (soft-foot checks, coupling inspection, vibration/noise diagnosis basics)
- Seals (mechanical seals, packing/gland systems, leak diagnosis and correction)
- Shaft/coupling condition checks, wear assessment, and corrective actions within site limitations
3) Compressors, Pneumatics & Actuated Valves
- Support troubleshooting and maintenance for air compressors and compressed-air utilities (leaks, abnormal cycling, pressure instability, filtration/condensate drainage issues).
- Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic valves and actuators, including solenoid valves, FRL units (filter–regulator–lubricator), positioners (basic checks), and air supply integrity.
- Assist in diagnosing instrumentation air and control-air problems that impact valve response, stability, and system performance.
4) Machinery & Mechanical Fault Diagnostics
- Diagnose and correct common mechanical faults:
- abnormal vibration, overheating, misalignment symptoms, cavitation indicators, excessive noise, repeated leakage, and performance loss.
- Perform disassembly/assembly, flange works, gasket replacement, tightening/torque discipline, cleaning, and functional testing.
- Identify root causes and propose corrective actions to prevent repeat failures.
5) Safety, Documentation & Coordination
- Work in accordance with site safety rules and good mechanical practice (isolation/LOTO awareness, hot surfaces/steam hazards, safe depressurization).
- Prepare professional service reports, photos, readings, and spare-part lists/BOQs.
- Coordinate with electrical/control teams when needed (interlocks, sensors, actuators), while keeping ownership of mechanical scope.
Requirements
Mandatory
- Strong proven experience in industrial mechanical maintenance (steam systems + machinery).
- Hands-on skill in bearings, seals, coupling/alignment, valves, and piping works.
- Practical exposure to compressors and pneumatic control components (solenoids, actuators, FRL).
- Ability to understand mechanical drawings/schematics and follow maintenance procedures.
- Integrity, professionalism, and clear communication with clients.
- Valid driving ability and readiness for frequent site visits.
Preferred
- Experience in critical facilities (hospitals), hospitality sites (hotels), and manufacturing plants.
- Ability to prepare clear technical reports and basic scopes/BOQs.
- Familiarity with maintenance documentation and structured PPM checklists.
