Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. This role involves supporting patients with diverse needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, and developmental disabilities. The Medical Technician will utilize their knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical documentation to ensure accurate and effective care delivery while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment dedicated to improving patient outcomes through skilled caregiving and medical assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care activities including vital signs monitoring, catheter care, tube feeding, and medication administration.
  • Document medical information accurately using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner.
  • Support patients with daily living activities in assisted living, hospice, senior care, and community settings.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment following healthcare protocols and infection control standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Assist with medical procedures under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety and privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Provide compassionate support for patients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments.
  • Support patients with disabilities or chronic conditions in home or community-based care environments.
  • Stay updated on medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and caregiving best practices to enhance patient support.

Experience

  • Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home health care is preferred.
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or in specialized areas such as Alzheimer’s or memory care is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is advantageous.
  • Background in nursing assistant roles or medical office experience is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures including vital signs measurement, medication administration, catheter care, and tube feeding is essential.
  • Experience working in acute or hospice care environments is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with disabilities is required. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
