Position Summary

The Media Assistant supports the media, communications, and marketing team by managing digital content, coordinating media activities, and ensuring smooth execution of promotional campaigns. The role involves content creation, social media handling, media monitoring, and assisting with documentation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Creation & Management

  • Assist in creating digital content including posts, captions, reels, posters, and videos.
  • Support in writing scripts, short articles, and communication drafts.
  • Maintain and organize media files, photos, and video archives.

2. Social Media Support

  • Help execute the social media calendar across all platforms.
  • Upload posts, stories, and updates as per schedule.
  • Track engagement analytics and prepare weekly performance reports.
  • Respond to comments/messages in coordination with supervisors.

3. Photography & Videography Assistance

  • Assist in basic photography and videography during events or field visits.
  • Coordinate with the media team for editing and post-production tasks.

4. Event & Campaign Support

  • Support media coverage during events, workshops, and activities.
  • Help manage banners, media kits, backdrops, and other promotional materials.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for smooth campaign execution.

5. Media Monitoring

  • Track news and media mentions relevant to the organization.
  • Compile daily/weekly media monitoring reports.

6. Coordination & Communication

  • Communicate with internal departments for media-related requirements.
  • Liaise with designers, photographers, and external agencies when needed.

7. Administrative Support

  • Maintain documentation of campaigns, approvals, and media budgets.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and folders.

8. Compliance & Branding

  • Ensure all content follows organizational branding guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all media materials and internal communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Mass Communication, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital trends.
  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe tools, or video editing software (preferred).
  • Good communication, writing, and coordination skills.
