Our Values
Worshiping God: We were made to love God with all our hearts. We believe that worship is both the celebration of the love of God as well as surrender to the will of God.
The Family of God: We were made to experience being the family of God. We believe that fellowship means time together, study together and service together. We believe that this best happens in the context of a small group. We believe that we are called to be an English-speaking church that warmly welcomes and enfolds people from all nations and languages.
Growth in Jesus Christ: We were made to continue to grow as followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that spiritual growth is a lifelong process. This means obedience to Jesus Christ's commands, regular study of God's Word, living a life of prayer and serving one another in love.
Impact on the Community: We were made to change the world by making disciples from all nations. We believe that there is no one thing more important than sharing the greatness of Jesus Christ to all persons, locally and globally.
Our Vision
We want to be a Christian church in which the greatness of Jesus Christ can be experienced and entered into by people from all nations (through faith in the bodily resurrected Jesus Christ) and which will continue to impact and transform the San Gabriel Valley by deeds of love done in His name and for His glory.
Our Purpose
To spread the Good News that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and to make faithful disciples from people of all nations, according to the Word of God (Matthew 1:21; 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 2:11). - To demonstrate the reality of God's love for our neighbors through service to the community (Mark 12:30-31, Luke 10:29-37; Mark 10:42-45; I John 3:16-18). - To glorify God by preparing believers for personal growth and purposeful action (Mark 1:16 18, John 15:8; Eph 4:11-16).
Our Statement of Faith
1. We believe that the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is the uniquely inspired and infallible written Word of God, and is our supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice (Matt. 24:35; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20- 21).
2. We believe in one God eternally existing in three Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; John 16:7-15; Col. 2:9-10).
3. We believe that human beings were created in the image of God and that, having sinned, they have incurred the penalty of spiritual death (Gen. 1:27; Gen. 2:17; Romans 3:23, 5:12, 6:23; 1 Cor. 6:9-11; Eph 2:1-10).
4. We believe that God became incarnate in Jesus Christ, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of the Virgin Mary, is true God and true human, and is the only and sufficient mediator between God and human beings (John 4:24; 14:9; 2 Cor. 5:19; Luke 2:34-35; Col. 2:9; Heb. 4:15; 1 Tim. 2:5).
5. We believe in the vicarious death of our Lord Jesus Christ, His physical resurrection from the dead, His ascension into Heaven, and His personal and visible return to the earth; and that salvation is received only through personal faith in Him without any benefit of human merit (Rom. 5:8,17; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 2:24; Matt. 28:5-6; Acts 1:9,11; 2:32; 4:12; Rom 5:17; 1 Thess. 4:16; John 14:6; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Rev 1:17-18; 19:11-16; 22:7, 12-13, 20).
6. We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit and that the Spirit's ministry is to reveal Jesus Christ to human beings in their regeneration, spiritual growth and Christian living (John 3:5-8; 14:16 17, 26; 16:13-14; 14:25-26, Rom. 8:13-14; Titus 3:5).
7. We believe that baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience showing the essential facts in redemption - the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ - and the essential experience of the believer - death to sin and resurrection to newness of life (Eph. 2:8-9; Rom 6:4-11; Titus 3:5; Matt. 28:19-20).
8. We believe that the Lord's Supper is a remembrance of the Lord's death and resurrection until His Second Coming (Mark 14:22-24; 1 Cor. 11:24-26).
9. We believe the church in the New Testament to be both universal and local; that the universal church, as known as the Body of Christ, is all persons throughout the world and of all ages professing personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; and that a local church is composed of believers in a given location, baptized and associated together for worship, service and the spreading of the Gospel (1 Cor. 1:2; Eph. 1:22-23; Acts 2:41-42; 8:4; 13:2-4; Matt 16:15-19; Col 1:18; I Peter 5:1-4).
10. We believe marriage is defined as a sacred union between one biological male and one biological female, who always have been biologically a man and woman, according to Holy Scriptures (Genesis 2:7-25; Matthew 19:4-5). We believe 1 Timothy 3:2 does not disqualify a divorced person from leadership or service but if married, does require a sincere devotion between husband and wife. If children are granted to this union, we believe God’s plan is for children to have the benefit of both one father and one mother. We stand united that this sacred union can never be man with man or woman with woman.
11. We believe in the Sanctity of human life. Life begins at conception and upholding this sanctity of life is consistent with our Christian faith. (Jer. 1:5, Ps 139:13).
