he Radiology Department Coordinator (Arabic Speaker) is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of the radiology and imaging department, ensuring efficient workflow, smooth patient experience, and compliance with healthcare standards. The role requires strong communication skills in Arabic and English to support patients and medical staff effectively, particularly in coordinating with local patients and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities1. Operational Coordination
- Manage daily operations of the Radiology Department, including scheduling, equipment readiness, and patient flow.
- Coordinate with radiologists, technicians, and front-desk staff to ensure timely completion of procedures.
- Maintain the daily work schedule for X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, and other imaging services.
- Ensure that all imaging equipment is functional and coordinate maintenance with the biomedical team.
2. Patient Handling & Communication
- Communicate fluently in Arabic and English to guide patients on imaging procedures and preparation requirements.
- Ensure patient registration, consent forms, and documentation are completed before the procedure.
- Handle patient queries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and empathy.
- Ensure reports are released on time and assist in follow-ups with referring physicians.
3. Administrative & Documentation Support
- Maintain and update records for all imaging procedures and patient data in the HIS/PACS system.
- Ensure billing, insurance approvals, and claims documentation are completed accurately.
- Support the department in compliance, audits, and accreditation (DOH, JCI, or other relevant authorities).
- Prepare daily/weekly operational reports for management review.
4. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols, infection control, and DOH regulations.
- Monitor department cleanliness and safety standards.
- Participate in internal audits, training sessions, and quality improvement programs.
- Ensure all documentation meets healthcare regulatory and data protection standards.
5. Coordination & Team Support
- Act as a key liaison between the radiology team, nursing, and front office.
- Coordinate communication between referring doctors and radiologists to streamline report turnaround time.
- Provide administrative support for departmental meetings, schedules, and leave planning.
6. Inventory & Resource Management
- Maintain adequate stock of consumables, films, contrast media, and related supplies.
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory control for timely replenishment.
- Track consumption and ensure cost efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Radiology Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a Radiology/Imaging department, preferably in the UAE.
- Must be fluent in Arabic and English (both written and spoken).
- Knowledge of DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) regulations.
- Experience using HIS, RIS, and PACS systems.
