Medical Assistant

We are currently seeking an experienced, passionate, motivated Medical Assistant for our primary clinic located in SouthTampa. Candidates must have a passion for the health, wellness and overall well-being of patients.

Position Overview:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for following established policies, procedures and professional guidelines. The Medical Assistant is responsible for triaging and taking vitals. The Medical Assistant is also responsible for the collection of specimens. Assists with clerical task such as verifying an order, collating collection batches, cleaning and stocking trays and carts and customer service when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Arrive promptly for shift.

· Ensure smooth and effective work flow.

· Implement a healthy, effective level of communication between all staff.

· Acknowledge and cheerfully greet all patients upon their arrival and departure.

· Utilize the computer and register with the necessary proficiency.

· Handle patients’ questions, concerns and occasional complaints with courtesy and professionalism.

· Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the medical practice.

· Work independently and assist in all areas of operation as requested by management.

· Be skilled in phlebotomy and specimen collection.

· Be able to put in IV lines and administer IV fluids.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or G.E.D.

· Phlebotomy certification

· Computer literate with Windows and iOS

· Detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task

· Must be able to be productive and efficient in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent customer service skills—enthusiasm, friendliness, diplomacy

· Excellent communication and listening skills

· Willingness to take on responsibility and embrace new challenges

· A demeanor that is approachable and confident

Background and Drug screen required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
