Medical Assistant – Long-Term Care

We are a long term care facility for developmentally disabled youth and adults.

Job Type: Full-time or Temporary
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support long-term care residents through medical record management, audits, and care coordination. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, audit, and update medical records for long-term care residents
• Conduct medication administration audits and provide follow-up/recaps
• Coordinate patient care with outside agencies and consultants
• Perform patient admits and reviews (medical histories, vital signs, documentation)
• Assist with clinical procedures and medication administration
• Schedule appointments and manage ICD coding and documentation
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Preferred Qualifications (Full-Time Permanent Candidates)

• Willingness to complete facility-sponsored Med Tech training program, with availability for medication administration shifts (1–2 days/week; 5:00 AM–1:00 PM or 1:00 PM–9:00 PM) $2/hour pay increase upon certification
• Ability to transport residents to medical appointments using facility vehicle - Additional pay increase available

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD coding preferred
