Medical Assistant

As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, CNS Healthcare's mission is to serve the people of our communities. The Medical Assistant plays a key role in representing the agency, often serving as a first impression to individuals served and visitors to any office sites. They are trusted to ensure a friendly and welcoming environment and provide the best customer service possible. This is primarily an administrative position, however; our Medical Assistants do assist our Clinic team by collecting vitals and other tasks as needed.

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $17 hourly - $23.00 hourly and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.

Interested in learning more about this role?

  • Check-in persons served, including verifying, and updating necessary information in the electronic health record and collecting copays as needed
  • Check-out individuals served including scheduling appointments
  • Collect and document insurance information
  • Assist with coordinating transportation and other services for the people we serve
  • Obtain enhanced vital signs including weight, height, blood pressure, heart rate, respiration rate, waist circumference, and health measures
  • Maintain the reception area in a neat, orderly, and welcoming manner
  • Review and update information in electronic health record system as needed
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with established policies and procedures, HIPAA standards, and other regulatory programs.
  • Ensure that the CNS Healthcare customer care standards of service are applied to interactions with individuals served, guests, and staff
  • Reference and maintain up-to-date relevant agency resources including, but not limited to; calendars, office schedules, program directories, and team rosters
  • Provide coverage and support of other customer care team functions as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or similar
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office setting
  • Passion for providing an unparalleled customer service experience in a dynamic and diverse work environment
  • Proficiency in word processing, data entry, and telephone skills
  • Ability to be forward thinking and take initiative to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Ability to use discretion and judgement when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential nature

Preferred

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent certification that is nationally recognized (CMA, RMA, CNA)
  • Experience working with individuals with behavioral health and substance use disorders
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs)
  • Bilingual
