Medical Assistant

Overview
The Pediatric Medical Assistant supports pediatric healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks in a child-focused medical setting. The role helps ensure smooth clinic operations and a positive patient experience for children and their families. Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Support
  • Take and record vital signs, height, weight, and basic patient information
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist during examinations or procedures
  • Perform basic tests (e.g., vision screening, hearing checks, rapid strep tests)
  • Administer vaccines under provider supervision (depending on state regulations)
  • Collect and label lab specimens
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • Administrative Duties
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Check patients in/out and verify insurance information
  • Communicate instructions to families (e.g., medication prep, follow-up care)
  • Manage phone calls, messages, and patient inquiries

Qualifications

  • Experience in pediatrics or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
  • Certification in CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
  • Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately
  • Patience, empathy, and a friendly demeanor
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks such as specimen collection, medication/vaccine administration, vital signs monitoring, and assisting in outpatient procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
