Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support clinical operations across outpatient settings, ensuring seamless patient care delivery. Your expertise will help facilitate efficient clinic workflows, assist with medical procedures, and provide exceptional patient service. Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates to support diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
  • Support clinical procedures by preparing necessary equipment, assisting during X-ray imaging, medication administration, or minor surgical interventions in outpatient or hospital settings.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently by documenting patient information, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and treatment details with precision.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tasks like specimen collection or processing in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, offering reassurance, and coordinating follow-up appointments or referrals as needed.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to diverse specialties such as geriatrics, internal medicine, pediatrics (PICU), and emergency medicine.
  • Experience working in hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with outpatient clinics, medical-surgical units, Geriatrics care settings, and surgical OR environments enhances your versatility.
  • Proficiency in using EHR systems for documentation and scheduling; experience with ICD coding is a plus.
  • Ability to perform vital signs collection accurately and efficiently in fast-paced settings such as urgent care or hospital medicine units.
  • Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) certification and medication administration protocols ensures safe patient care practices.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
