Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately.
• Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to monitor patient health status.
• Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort.
• Support physicians during procedures by handing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and assisting with minor treatments or X-ray procedures.
• Manage medical documentation including ICD coding for diagnoses, updating patient charts, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Support administrative functions such as scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and coordinating referrals within outpatient or inpatient settings.
• Assist with laboratory tasks like specimen collection or processing when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards.

Experience

• Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine units, or emergency departments is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with EHR systems and familiarity with medical terminology is essential for accurate documentation.
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, medication administration protocols, and basic X-ray procedures enhances your effectiveness in this role.
