Medical Assistant

Job Title: Medical Assistant (Entry-Level) – Internal Medicine

Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and motivated entry-level Medical Assistant to join our internal medicine practice. This position is ideal for a candidate with strong foundational clinical skills and a passion for patient care. The Medical Assistant will support providers with both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain and accurately document vital signs
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits
• Assist with minor in-office procedures
• Perform EKGs and spirometry testing
• Administer vaccines in accordance with clinical guidelines
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documentation
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and organized
• Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries in a professional manner
• Communicate lab results to patients as directed by providers
• Assist front desk staff with scheduling and patient check-in/check-out as needed
• Process prior authorizations (PAs) for medications and services
• Handle medical records requests in compliance with privacy regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members

Qualifications:

• Bilingual; fluent in English and Spanish.
• Entry-level candidates welcome; prior medical assistant experience a plus
• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills
• Phlebotomy experience preferred but not required

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with EHR systems
• Familiarity with internal medicine workflows
• Experience performing EKGs and spirometry
