Medical Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive support in our office. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, medical terminology, and clinical procedures, with experience in diverse medical environments. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and quality care delivery in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately
• Assist with patient examinations and procedures in outpatient and inpatient settings
• Support physicians with tasks such as medication administration, wound dressing, and basic life support during emergencies
• Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient information and clinical notes
• Prepare patients for diagnostic tests including X-ray procedures and other imaging modalities
• Assist with ICD coding and documentation for billing purposes
• Maintain clinical supplies and ensure cleanliness of the work environment according to safety standards
• Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions and ensuring comfort throughout their visit or stay

Experience

• Prior experience working in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or urgent care centers is highly preferred
• Knowledge of medical-surgical procedures, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential
• Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding processes is required
• Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures or emergency medicine is a plus
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required or must be obtained upon hire

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
