Medical Assistant - Front/Back Office

Our cardiology clinic, nestled in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Medical Assistants (MA Certification NOT required) for both front office and back office duties. The ideal candidate will have experience working as part of a patient care team in a private clinic setting, boasting excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a highly dynamic environment while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and patient-friendly demeanor. We are looking for bilingual candidates (Spanish/Chinese/Korean preferred), especially those with knowledge of medical terminology.

Under the direct supervision of the cardiologist and alongside a team of dedicated medical assistants and imaging technicians, you will tackle everyday clinical and administrative tasks, which includes but not limited to vital patients, perform EKGs, prepare patients for procedures, and coordinate care plans.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet patients with care and measure patients’ vital signs
  • Perform EKGs and prepare patients for other diagnostic cardiac procedures
  • Thoroughly conduct patient intakes prior to their physician examination
  • Input patients’ health information into a HIPAA-secured EMR system
  • Coordinate patient scheduling for their next exam or procedure
  • Maintain inventory of all medical supplies and refill all necessary supplies daily
  • Verify patient’s health insurances and submit authorizations prior to their physician visit
  • Answer and triage a variety of incoming calls and faxes during clinic business hours
  • Understand and explain treatment procedures, medications, and the physician’s instructions to the patient.
  • Scan and process a variety of documents and medical records encountered in a clinic setting
  • Coordinate outside hospital procedures with the physician and the patient
  • Coordinate the plan of care for nursing home patients that are followed by the physician
  • Routinely clean waiting rooms and exam rooms after each patient
  • Perform other medical assistant and clerical duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 year experience as a medical assistant; combined education/experience will be taken into consideration as a substitute for minimum experience.
  • Bilingual: Advanced proficiency in either Spanish/Chinese/Korean (Preferred)
  • PART-TIME: Able to work 3 full days at a minimum (Monday to Friday)
  • FULL-TIME: Able to work 5 full days at a minimum (Monday to Friday)
  • Able to work on Saturdays (Highly preferred)

Pay: $18.50 - $22.00 per hour
