The medical assistant/pharmacy tech will support providers by providing caring, personalized, and efficient handling of patients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate using EMR
- Use Cover my meds to process prior authorizations
- Optimizes patients’ satisfaction
- Greet customers and answer questions efficiently and scheduling appointments.
- Coordinates with medical offices to address patient needs such as refills, referrals processing and appointments scheduling
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information per HIPAA regulations.
- Encourages patient compliance with preventative care by reaching out to patients and reminding them when they are due for preventive exams and screenings.
- Performs all other duties as trained and requested by provider and/or management.
Candidates must have:
- Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement
- Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, peers, and management. Ability to communicate with proper etiquette.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to patients and remaining flexible to the needs of the business. Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to follow up on leads, schedule consultations, obtain patient consent for treatment and manage time management skills.
- Other Skills: Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service. Need to be reliable and outgoing, detail-oriented problem solver with exceptional customer service skills. Will exhibit high attention to detail, dexterity, and hand/eye coordination. Must be punctual and can prioritize and multitask.
Additional Requirements:
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant/Pharmacy Tech.
- Highschool graduate/ Medical Assistant or pharmacy Technician certificate
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience)
