Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines clinical support with front-office responsibilities, ensuring seamless patient experiences and efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical procedures, excellent patient service skills, and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Duties
- Greet and check-in patients, verifying insurance information and collecting necessary documentation to facilitate smooth patient flow.
- Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, adhering to established protocols.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as specimen collection, medication administration, and basic life support procedures when required.
- Prepare patients for examinations by documenting medical histories and current complaints accurately in the EHR system.
- Experience with Heidis and MIPS
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-up communications, and coordinate referrals to specialists or ancillary services such as X-ray or laboratory testing.
- Maintain clinical supplies inventory and ensure cleanliness and sterilization of equipment in compliance with safety standards.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries professionally and ensuring a welcoming environment at all times.
Requirements
- Prior experience in medical settings such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, , anatomy, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medication administration protocols.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and familiarity with Family Practice, Geriatrics and Pediatrics
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle intake processes efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with diverse patient populations and healthcare professionals.
- Experience with CURE MD helpful not required
