Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and services to determine usual, customary, and reasonable charges. Responsibilities

• Review and interpret medical records, documentation, and provider notes to assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes
• Ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes in accordance with industry standards and regulations
• Submit clean claims electronically through Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to facilitate prompt reimbursement
• Assessing medical bills to determine UCR and coding compliance
• Proficiency in coding systems, and DRG classifications
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for billing, coding, and record management
• Ability to analyze medical records thoroughly to identify appropriate codes
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with members of the team
