Medical Coder

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Coder to join our team. The role involves accurate medical coding, managing insurance approvals, and overseeing Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) processes to ensure timely reimbursements and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Coding & Documentation:

  • Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services.
  • Review medical records and clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure coding compliance with DHA, HAAD, MOH, and international guidelines.

Insurance Approvals & Claims Management:

  • Submit and track prior authorization requests with insurance providers.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for treatments and procedures.
  • Resolve coding or documentation discrepancies that may delay claim approval.

Revenue Cycle Management (RCM):

  • Prepare and submit insurance claims in a timely manner.
  • Monitor claim rejections/denials and work on resubmissions or appeals.
  • Coordinate with the billing team to ensure accurate invoicing and reimbursements.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, coding guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Protect patient confidentiality in compliance with healthcare laws and clinic policies.
  • Participate in audits and implement corrective actions when needed.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to clarify documentation.
  • Assist the finance and billing teams in resolving outstanding claim issues.
  • Provide training or guidance to staff on proper documentation for coding purposes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Medical Coding, Health Information Management, or a related field.
  • Valid Medical Coding Certification (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in medical coding and insurance approvals within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Familiarity with UAE healthcare regulations and insurance processes (DHA/HAAD/MOH).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in medical software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
