Medical Delivery Courier

Position: Medical Delivery Courier- Full-Time

Position is located in Berkeley, CA.

Position Summary: The primary role of the Medical Delivery Courier is to deliver patients’ specimens, collected from various hospitals and facilities.

Responsibilities: The Medical Delivery Courier will be responsible for picking up and delivering specimens with care and following proper specimen protocols.

The Medical Delivery Courier responsibilities include:

1. Pickup and deliver medical specimens, ensuring the integrity of all packages.
2. Place items in cold storage inside the vehicle (or as instructions) and ensure they are secured safely.
3. Understand distinct instructions provided concerning care and time allowance.
4. Handle all specimens and lab samples safely and efficiently.
5. Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain necessary signatures.
6. Communicate delays, route changes, or specimen issues promptly. 
7. Complete the daily pick-up schedule on time.
8. Follow Procedures and Protocols of Machaon.
9. Perform other related tasks and projects as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements:

·         Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

·         Desirable Experience: Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. At least 2 years of laboratory industry experience, strong analytical skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent customer service skills.

·         Knowledge: Strong attention to detail and time management skills. Knowledge regarding hospital laboratory, reference laboratory, physician office, health insurance, and pharmaceutical industries/sub-markets.

·         Special Skills/Equipment: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person and over the phone. Very punctual and strong time management skills. Must be able to work independently.

Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM, may require early morning, evenings, weekends, or holidays shifts.
