Job Summary
The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for managing insurance claims, verifying patient insurance details, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This role involves effective communication with insurance providers, and healthcare staff to facilitate smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Claims Processing: Submit and track insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to insurance companies.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to services rendered.
- Patient Communication: Educate patients on their insurance benefits, coverage limits, and out-of-pocket expenses.
- Insurance Liaison: Act as the primary contact for insurance companies; resolve any discrepancies or issues related to claims or coverage.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and policies regarding insurance practices.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate patient records and insurance information in the database.
- Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and insurance companies to resolve claim issues.
- Reporting: Prepare reports on claims status, denials, and appeals for management review.

Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in insurance coordination or healthcare administration.
- Certification: Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Insurance Specialist) are a plus.

Skills
- Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately handle sensitive information and maintain organized records.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to resolve claims issues and denials.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
