MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST - FULL TIME OR PART TIME- PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

We are looking for a long-term medical receptionist for a busy, non-smoking rheumatology practice in Bedford, Texas that has served patients in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex for more than 30 years. Previous experience is preferred.

We give strong preference to hard-working candidates with nice personalities, who are detail-oriented, and have strong communication, basic math, computer, and teamwork skills. Maturity/professionalism, good handwriting (penmanship), and being a team-player are also essential.

Inexperienced candidates are still welcome to apply, although we expect you to quickly master medical terminology, phlebotomy, and other essential skills throughout the job. Flexible schedule can be discussed at the interview.

Rheumatology services are always in high demand in the job market. In this position, you will accumulate strong knowledge of the diverse medications we use for various rheumatological, autoimmune, and joint diseases. Over time, you will also gain useful knowledge about the way health insurance works in our country.

Responsibilities include:

1. Checking in patients, collecting vital signs, obtaining HPI from the patient, maintaining accurate medication list

2. Talking on the phone with patients and insurance

3. Health insurance verification for patients

4. Obtaining referrals from primary care doctors for certain insurances

5. Tracking and collecting payments

6. Filing patient charts

7. Basic housekeeping (ex: cleaning patient rooms, trash disposal)
