- Core Responsibilities
- Patient Reception: Greet patients, answer phones, and handle inquiries to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience.
Insurance-Specific Duties
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before appointments.
- Treatment Approval: Assist with obtaining necessary pre-authorizations for treatments and procedures.
- Claims Processing: Process and manage insurance claims and payments.
- Billing and Inquiries: Answer patient questions regarding billing and insurance processes and assist with insurance forms.
Required Skills
- Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain an orderly work environment.
- Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with practice management software (PMS) and other relevant technology.
- Insurance Knowledge: Strong understanding of health insurance processes and terminology.
- Scheduling and Flow: Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate with medical staff to keep the schedule on track.
- Check-in/Check-out: Process patient registration and update their information in the system during check-in and check-out.
- Clerical Duties: Perform administrative tasks like filing, photocopying, and data entry to maintain organized patient records.
