A MEDICAL RECORDS DEPRARTMENT IS THE WHOLE SOUL OF ANY INFORMATION OF THE PATIENT WHO IS DISCHARGED FROM THE HOSPITAL AFTER TREATMENT. A MEDICAL RECORDS DEPARTMENT MAINLY FUNCTIONS TO STORE MEDICAL RECORDS OR TREATMENT FILES OF PATIENTS WHO ARE EITHER TREATED IN THE PATIENT DEPARTMENT OR IN THE EMERGENCY UNIT.
- Record Management: Oversee the organization, maintenance, and filing of patient medical records, both physical and electronic, ensuring they are complete and accurate.
- Data Privacy & Security: Implement and enforce policies to protect patient information and ensure compliance with health information laws and data privacy regulations .
- EHR Systems: Manage and utilize electronic health record systems for efficient data entry, retrieval, and management of patient information.
- Patient Information Handling: Respond to requests for medical records from authorized individuals and organizations, while strictly maintaining confidentiality.
- Collaboration: Work with doctors, nurses, and other departments to ensure accurate and complete patient documentation and to improve record-keeping processes.
- Reporting & Statistics: Prepare various reports and statistics based on medical records for management and other authorities.
- Compliance: Stay updated on changes in medical record regulations, coding practices, and technology to ensure the department remains compliant.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate record-keeping practices to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes for efficiency and accuracy.
