Medical Scribe

OCUA is a fast-paced Urology practice in need of a Medical Scribe to complete our team. Medical Scribes facilitate the patient/physician interaction by allowing the physician more time with the patient without the added worry and stress of documenting.

Job Duties:

As a Medical Scribe you will be present during the physician’s performance of clinical services and assist the physician with documentation.

Hours:

This is a part-time/per diem position. Schedule will vary Monday- Friday between 8:00AM to 5:00 PM

Locations:

This position may float between our different office locations in Orange County: Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo, Irvine, and Huntington Beach.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing patient’s past medical record
• Recording in the patient chart any procedures performed by the physician
• Recording any consultations or discussions
• Transcribing results of labs, x-rays, or other evaluations
• Inputting proper diagnoses
• Generating appropriate lab orders
• Recording any follow-up instructions as directed by the physician
• Other duties as required by the position

Requirements:

• Must adhere to confidentiality regulations (e.g. HIPAA)
• Must be tolerant of different personality types, socio-economic backgrounds, races, etc.
• Must possess and exhibit basic ethical values (e.g. honesty, the ability to understand right from wrong, etc.)
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to type at least 75 WPM
• Must be confident when using computers
• Ability to navigate Windows operating system or Basic knowledge of electronic medical records
• Must be able to write in English concisely and distinctly using appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and spelling.
• Must have at least two (2) years background in the medical field or current enrollment in a pre-medical professional program.
• Must have a proven ability to work well in a team setting
• Bilingual is highly preferred but not required.
• Certified Medical Assistants are highly preferred but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.72 per hour
