Medical Scribe

Overview
Busy Orthopedic practice is seeking a Part-Time Medical Scribe/MA for our Hackensack and Paramus office. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Medical Scribe to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to accurately document patient encounters in real-time. This role is essential in ensuring that medical records are complete, accurate, and compliant with healthcare regulations. A strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is crucial for success in this position. Great opportunity for someone with a strong interest in the medical field.

Duties

• Accurately transcribe physician-patient interactions during examinations and consultations.
• Document medical histories, physical examinations, assessments, diagnostic results, medial procedures, diagnoses, medication/prescription information and treatment plans in electronic health records (EHR).
• Ensure that all medical documentation adheres to legal and regulatory standards.
• Assist in maintaining organized medical records and ensure timely updates.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies or incomplete information.
• Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to enhance documentation accuracy.
• Support the medical office by managing administrative tasks as needed.

Part time:

• Monday's: 1 pm-5 pm Paramus office
• Tuesday's: 8 am to 5 pm Hackensack office
• Friday's: 8 am to 5 pm Hackensack office

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Experience with medical documentation and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
• Ability to type efficiently and accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
• Fast typing ability a must!
• Experience with Mod Med a plus
• Previous experience in a medical office or emergency room setting is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
