We are a private practice clinic with four providers, two physicians and two mid-level providers. As leaders in pain medicine, Space City Pain Specialists have been caring for our community since 2004.

Interventional pain medicine is a field of medicine encompassing a comprehensive approach to identifying causes of and treatments for chronic painful conditions. Physicians must undergo rigorous training to become board certified in interventional pain medicine.

The pain management physicians and providers at Space City Pain are committed to excellence in pain medicine. To ensure this, our physicians have gone the extra mile and are Board Certified pain treatment doctors by The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), which, for more than 85 years, has been the recognized leader in developing and setting the gold standard for physician specialty certification in the U.S.

Space City Pain Specialists is looking for a full-time medical scribe to join our team in Webster, TX.

Job Summary:

The medical scribe is responsible for:

• Document provider encounters with history, physical exam, diagnoses
• Enter E/M codes with diagnoses pointers for encounters
• Schedule follow-up appointments
• Send medication refills
• Create and send orders for imaging, labs, therapy, DME, etc.
• Create procedure orders
• Administer injections (PRN)
• Manage in-office procedure schedule
• Send clearance requests for procedures
• Upload ultrasound images into EMR
• Complete H&Ps prior to outpatient procedures
• Special documentation for patients for FMLA, disability, handicap forms, etc.
• Answering phones
• Communication with patients via phone, EMR portal, SMS messages, letters, etc.
• Scanning documents to charts
• EMR fax folder documents labeled and attached to patients’ charts
• Remove canceled outpatient procedures from the schedule and document
• Supply inventory
• Maintain a positive attitude and work well with others

Qualifications:

• Previous scribe experience required
