Job Title: Medical Surgical Nurse
Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions and those recovering from surgical procedures. The role requires strong clinical judgment, patient-centered care, and adherence to established healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical unit.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and clinical conditions, reporting any changes promptly.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed.
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures and provide post-operative care.
- Manage wound care, dressings, and infection control practices.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions when required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Valid nursing license (as per regulatory authority).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in handling post-operative and acute care patients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
