Medical Transcriptionist/Scribe

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Transcriptionist to support healthcare providers by accurately transcribing medical documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, combined with excellent typing skills and experience in a medical office setting. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient patient care documentation while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

Duties

  • Transcribe dictated medical reports, patient histories, examination notes, and other clinical documentation with precision and attention to detail.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards for accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Maintain familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to accurately interpret provider dictations.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently, ensuring timely updates and organization of patient files.
  • Review transcribed documents for errors or inconsistencies and make necessary corrections promptly.
  • Support administrative tasks related to medical documentation as needed, including filing, data entry, and report formatting.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical staff to ensure clear communication and high-quality record-keeping.

Experience

  • Prior experience in medical transcription within a healthcare environment is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in transcription with a strong command of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
  • Experience working in a medical office setting, understanding clinical workflows and documentation standards.
  • Excellent typing skills with high accuracy and speed to meet fast-paced demands.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and transcription software.
  • Knowledge of physiology concepts relevant to various specialties such as cardiology, orthopedics, or general medicine is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with attention to detail to ensure precise record-keeping in compliance with healthcare regulations.
