Job Overview
We are seeking a Temporary-to-Hire dedicated and detail-oriented Member Service Representative to join our Credit Union Family. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional member service while efficiently handling daily teller transactions. This role involves engaging with members to promote financial products and services, ensuring accurate cash handling, and maintaining strong member relationships. The Credit Union Member Service Rep plays a vital part in fostering trust and satisfaction within our financial institution.
Duties
- Process a variety of banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments with accuracy and efficiency
- Handle cash, checks, and electronic transactions while adhering to cash management procedures
- Promote and cross-sell financial products such as loans, savings accounts, and other banking services through upselling and relationship management
- Answers questions and assists members with their Online Banking, Mobile App(s), Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Bill Pay, and any other deposit account related items
- Detect and prevent fraud by monitoring suspicious activity and following security protocols
- Assists members with all lending service needs, including but not limited to: receiving loan applications, answering questions and closing loans
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of banking policies, procedures, and software systems to ensure compliance and operational excellence
- Assists with balancing and replenishing the ATM and cash vault
- Perform basic math calculations accurately using retail math skills and 10-key typing proficiency
- Uphold confidentiality and security standards in all member interactions
Experience
- Previous experience in financial sales or member service within a banking or credit union environment is preferred
- Familiarity with financial software, cash handling procedures, debit & credit processing, and fraud prevention techniques is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with members
- Basic math skills including cashiering, retail math, and handling debits & credits are essential
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of loan origination processes, loan processing, and financial services is a plus
- Experience with upselling financial products to meet member needs will be highly valued
Pay: $18.38 - $20.00 per hour
