Mental Health Nurse Wanted – Republic of Nauru

Nauru Medical Centre is seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our healthcare team. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality mental health care and support in a community with growing healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with mental health conditions
• Support assessment, treatment, and care planning in collaboration with psychiatrists and doctors
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient progress
• Educate patients and families about mental health, recovery, and wellness strategies
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions when required
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with clinical protocols
• Contribute to community-based mental health awareness and outreach programs

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a specialization or experience in mental health/psychiatric nursing
• Valid nursing license/registration (where applicable)
• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant clinical experience preferred
• Strong communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, remote environment
• Empathy, resilience, and a genuine commitment to patient-centered care
