Job Description: OMH Therapist (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC)
Position Summary:
The OMH Clinician provides mental health assessment, treatment, and supportive services to individuals living with emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric challenges. This role involves delivering evidence-based interventions, maintaining clinical documentation, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting recovery-oriented care in compliance with New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, intake evaluations, and treatment planning.
- Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy, using evidence-based modalities.
- Deliver crisis intervention, stabilization, and safety planning as needed.
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other providers to ensure integrated treatment.
- Engage clients in recovery-focused, person-centered services aligned with OMH guidelines.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
- Provide psychoeducation regarding mental health, coping skills, and community resources.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with OMH, Medicaid, and agency standards.
Qualifications:
- LCSW, LMSW, or LMHC in New York State (active license in good standing).
- Experience in outpatient mental health, clinic, or community-based settings preferred.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing).
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
- Ability to engage diverse populations with cultural humility and sensitivity.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Russian, Hebrew, Yiddish, or Mandarin preferred.
- Outpatient mental health clinic or OMH-licensed program.
- Hybrid (in-person/telehealth) schedules may be available depending on agency policy.

Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
