Overview
Join our dedicated mental health team as a Mental Health Therapist, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals across diverse populations. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis management protocols and crisis intervention techniques to ensure client safety during acute episodes.
- Develop and document detailed medical records and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Facilitate intake assessments for new clients, establishing rapport and gathering essential information for treatment planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Engage in clinical research activities when applicable, contributing to data collection efforts that support ongoing program development.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure or certification as a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), psychologist, or equivalent credentialing depending on jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology coordination, and grief counseling.
- Demonstrated ability to work with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Experience with crisis intervention strategies and managing emergency situations effectively.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic purposes; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
- Telehealth experience preferred; ability to utilize virtual platforms for patient care delivery.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and mental health counseling practices.
- Strong documentation skills ensuring accurate medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in outpatient or inpatient settings; experience in hospital environments is advantageous. Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
