MEP Coordinator

The MEP Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works on construction projects, ensuring that design, installation, and commissioning are executed in compliance with project specifications, codes, authority requirements, quality standards, and timelines. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand all MEP drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Coordinate MEP works with architectural, structural, and civil disciplines to avoid conflicts and ensure seamless integration.
  • Liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors for technical clarifications, approvals, and inspections.
  • Supervise site MEP activities to ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Monitor progress of MEP works and report to Project Manager on risks, delays, or deviations.
  • Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and handover of all MEP systems.
  • Review material submittals and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed coordination drawings (2D/3D where required) and as-built documentation.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and conflicts at site in coordination with design and construction teams.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in all MEP activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in MEP coordination within large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of international standards and local authority regulations, including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, ADDC, and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence.
  • Familiarity with ADDC and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence regulations and requirements is essential.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or other coordination software.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
