MEP Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a MEP Coordinator with a minimum of 10 years of UAE experience in MEP coordination on large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of MEP works onsite, ensuring proper execution, integration with civil and structural works, coordination with subcontractors, and compliance with all authority regulations.

✅ Key Responsibilities' Coordination & Execution:

• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and ELV services across all phases of construction.
• Ensure effective coordination between MEP and civil/structural works to avoid conflicts and delays.
• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, and technical submittals for compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Conduct detailed coordination using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks for clash detection and resolution.
• Ensure timely release of MEP clearances to civil teams for uninterrupted work progress.

Subcontractor Management:

• Liaise with and supervise MEP subcontractors for installation, inspection, and testing activities.
• Review and monitor subcontractor work programs, manpower deployment, and progress reports.
• Coordinate and follow up on material procurement schedules in line with project timelines.
• Ensure subcontractors’ compliance with HSE standards and QA/QC requirements.

Authority Approvals & Compliance:

• Manage submissions and approvals with UAE authorities (DEWA, DCD, ADDC, SEWA, Etisalat, DU, ADM, etc.).
• Attend inspections with consultants and local authorities to secure NOCs and final approvals.
• Ensure that all MEP works adhere to UAE codes, international standards (NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC), and client specifications.

Project Control & Reporting:

• Maintain and update MEP work schedules in coordination with the main project program.
• Track RFIs, variation orders, technical clarifications, and ensure timely responses and resolutions.
• Support the planning team in preparing weekly/monthly MEP progress reports.
• Attend project coordination, technical, and progress meetings with consultants and clients.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover:

• Lead the testing and commissioning of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, water supply, drainage, and BMS.
• Coordinate with third-party agencies and consultants for inspections and certifications.
• Prepare and manage the submission of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and final handover documents.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant UAE experience in MEP coordination, with a main contractor on medium to large-scale projects.
• Proven experience in managing subcontractors and resolving coordination issues on-site.
• Strong knowledge of UAE authority processes and building codes.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and MS Office tools.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience on high-rise, hospitality, or design & build projects.
• LEED / Estidama knowledge or certification.
• Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.
