MEP Draftsman

Job Summary:

The Building MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed and accurate technical drawings for all MEP systems in construction projects. This includes layouts for HVAC, electrical, water supply, drainage, fire protection, and related services. The MEP Draftsman works closely with MEP engineers and project teams to ensure coordinated and code-compliant designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other drafting software.
• Develop detailed layouts for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems.
• Coordinate with architectural and structural drawings to ensure MEP systems fit within building spaces without clashes.
• Assist in MEP coordination meetings and update drawings based on clash detection reports or site changes.
• Ensure drawings comply with local codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Update and revise drawings as needed during design development and construction phases.
• Maintain proper documentation and file management of all drawings and revisions.
• Support MEP engineers in preparing material take-offs and equipment schedules when required.
• Visit construction sites, if needed, to verify conditions and take field measurements.
• Work collaboratively with the design, engineering, and construction teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a Draftsman in MEP systems for building projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential
• Strong understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, electrical, fire fighting).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Knowledge of local building codes and MEP standards.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.
