Job Summary
The MEP Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings in line with project requirements, design intent, and applicable standards. The role supports engineers, project managers, and site teams throughout design, coordination, and execution phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare MEP drawings including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and electrical systems
- Develop detailed shop drawings based on design intent, specifications, and site conditions
- Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines
- Revise drawings based on comments from consultants, clients, and authorities
- Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion
- Ensure drawings comply with local codes, standards, and project requirements
- Assist in material take-offs and basic quantity calculations when required
- Support site teams by providing drawing clarifications and updates
- Maintain organized drawing registers and document control
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 2–5 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, detailing, and coordination
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Experience
- Experience in commercial, residential, or fit-out projects
- Familiarity with authority submission requirements and approvals
