MEP Draughtsman

The MEP Draughtsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. This role involves working closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure that all designs are accurate, comply with industry standards, and meet project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drawing and Design:Develop detailed MEP drawings, including plans, sections, and details.

Use computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools to create and modify drawings.
Prepare layouts and detailed scale drawings for MEP systems based on engineering designs and specifications.
Ensure that all MEP drawings comply with company standards and project requirements.

• Collaboration and Coordination:Collaborate with project engineers and other draughtsmen to produce coordinated and high-quality design drawings.

Liaise with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve design issues and ensure project requirements are met.
Coordinate with the site team to ensure the correct implementation of MEP designs.

• Documentation and Reporting:Maintain organized records of all drawings and design documentation.

Update and maintain project files, including revisions and changes to drawings.
Prepare and present reports on the progress of MEP drawings and designs.

• Quality Control:Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design standards.

Ensure that all MEP drawings are clear, precise, and easy to understand.

• Technical Support:Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team during the installation and execution of MEP systems.

Assist in resolving any technical issues that arise on-site related to MEP designs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience as an MEP draftsman, preferably in the construction / interior design fit-out industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other MEP drafting software.
• Familiarity with local codes and regulations related to MEP systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles is a plus.
