Joinery Draughtsman

Position: Interior Fit-Out Draughtsman

Job Summary

The Interior Fit-Out Draughtsman is responsible for preparing detailed shop drawings, construction drawings, joinery details, and as-built drawings for interior fit-out projects. The role involves coordinating with designers, engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure accurate and timely production of technical drawings in compliance with project specifications and UAE authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, working drawings, and construction drawings for interior fit-out projects.
• Develop furniture, joinery, gypsum ceiling, partition, flooring, and wall-finishing details.
• Produce floor plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, and detailed drawings.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify and resolve clashes.
• Conduct site visits and take accurate measurements for drafting purposes.
• Modify and update drawings based on design changes, site conditions, and client requirements.
• Prepare drawings for authority approvals where required.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Prepare material schedules, quantity take-offs, and drawing revisions.
• Maintain proper documentation and drawing control procedures.
• Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, local regulations, and company standards.
• Support the design and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years (or as required) of experience in interior fit-out or construction projects.
• UAE experience is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows is an advantage.
• Familiarity with SketchUp and rendering software is preferred.
• Strong understanding of interior fit-out detailing and shop drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Knowledge of UAE construction standards and authority requirements.
