Job Summary:

The MEP Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, execution, and supervision of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for building and infrastructure projects. The role ensures that all MEP works comply with UAE codes, authority requirements (e.g., ADDC, DEWA, SEWA, ADM, ADCD), and project specifications while maintaining quality, safety, and budget standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems.
  • Review design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and UAE authority standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and subcontractors for smooth project execution.
  • Conduct load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, cable sizing, and equipment selection using appropriate software and standards.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and material requisitions for MEP works.
  • Supervise MEP installations on-site and ensure adherence to project timelines and safety protocols.
  • Liaise with local authorities (DEWA, SEWA, ADDC, ADCD, etc.) for design submissions, approvals, and inspections.
  • Perform inspections, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems and prepare related documentation.
  • Ensure proper integration of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions in MEP design and execution.
  • Report progress and technical issues to the Project/MEP Manager on a regular basis.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of experience in MEP design, coordination, and site supervision within the UAE.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, DIALux, and other relevant design software.
  • Strong understanding of UAE building codes, standards, and authority regulations (UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, DEWA, SEWA, ADDC, ADM, etc.).
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, electrical distribution, plumbing networks, and fire protection systems.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Certifications (Optional):

  • Society of Engineers – UAE Membership.
  • UAE Municipality / DEWA / ADDC / ADCD Approval (as applicable).
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification (an advantage).
