Job Summary
The MEP Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works at the construction site.
Key Responsibilities
- Review MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs
- Coordinate MEP activities with civil, architectural, and other disciplines
- Supervise installation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV systems
- Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and method statements
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, codes, and safety standards
- Monitor site progress and report to the Project Manager
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
- Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure quality standards
- Assist in testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems
- Support preparation of as-built drawings and O&M manuals
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in MEP construction works
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting systems
- Familiarity with local authority regulations and international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, etc.)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (knowledge of BIM is an advantage)
- Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Site-based MEP coordination experience
- Knowledge of testing & commissioning procedures
- Experience with high-rise, commercial, or residential projects
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts
Working Conditions
- Site and office-based role
- May require extended working hours to meet project deadlines
