MEP Engineer

MEP Engineer – 5+ Years Experience

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEP Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in building construction and MEP projects in UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, executing, and supervising all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works to ensure project completion in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.

The candidate should possess strong technical knowledge in HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, firefighting, and building services coordination, along with excellent project management and communication skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Systems

• Design, review, and supervise HVAC systems including chillers, VRF/VRV systems, ventilation, ducting, and air distribution systems.
• Perform heat load calculations and equipment selection.
• Ensure proper installation, testing, balancing, and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Monitor energy efficiency and recommend cost-effective solutions.

Electrical Systems

• Supervise electrical installations including power distribution, lighting systems, cable routing, generators, UPS systems, and low-current systems.
• Review electrical load calculations and technical drawings.
• Coordinate electrical testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards.

Plumbing & Fire Fighting Systems

• Oversee installation and maintenance of plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, sewage, and stormwater systems.
• Supervise firefighting systems including sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, and fire alarm coordination.
• Conduct inspections to ensure all systems meet project and authority requirements.

Project Coordination & Site Supervision

• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve technical and site issues.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor work progress to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Ensure all MEP works are executed according to approved plans and project schedules.
• Attend project meetings and provide technical support to project teams.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all MEP activities comply with local authority regulations, international codes, and HSE requirements.
• Implement quality control procedures and conduct inspections/testing.
• Identify risks and recommend corrective actions to avoid project delays or technical issues.
• Maintain proper documentation including reports, inspection records, and as-built drawings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in MEP engineering and construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems.
• Experience in residential, commercial, high-rise, or industrial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, MS Office, and other engineering software.
• Excellent understanding of local authority regulations and international standards.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Good communication, leadership, and team coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• GCC/UAE project experience preferred.
• Experience with testing & commissioning activities.
• Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.
