MEP Engineer

AAEC is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical & MEP Design Engineer to join our consultancy team in Sharjah.

The role covers the full project cycle from electrical and MEP design through to authority approvals and site supervision across residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects in the UAE.

A valid SEWA Consultancy License is a mandatory requirement. Candidates without it will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and review electrical systems including power, lighting, low current, fire alarm, emergency systems, and mechanical equipment connections in accordance with UAE regulations and international standards.
• Prepare and submit electrical design drawings, load schedules, single-line diagrams, and technical documents for authority approvals under the engineer’s license.
• Coordinate with SEWA, Civil Defense, municipalities, and other relevant authorities for project submissions, approvals, inspections, and NOCs.
• Prepare compliant fire alarm and fire & life safety system designs in accordance with Civil Defense requirements and UAE Fire & Life Safety Code.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, safety standards, and project requirements throughout all project stages.
• Coordinate electrical and MEP systems with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines to ensure efficient and coordinated designs.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, BOQs, and material submittals for client and authority review.
• Conduct site inspections and supervise electrical installations as per approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards when required.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and authorities to facilitate project execution and timely approvals.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for submissions, approvals, inspections, and project correspondence.
• Support tendering activities, technical evaluations, and project coordination when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Valid SEWA Consultancy / Engineer License (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in MEP design, authority submissions, and site supervision within an Engineering Consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of SEWA regulations, Civil Defense requirements, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, and international electrical standards (IEC, NEC).
• Experience in preparing and obtaining approvals for fire alarm and fire & life safety systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, electrical calculation software, and MS Office.
• Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED9,000.00 per month
